FOERSTER products measure primarily magnetic fields. Derived magnetic properties can assist in analyzing materials.

MAGNETOMAT and 3-axis-magnetometer detect the 3-dimensional magnetic environment.

MAGNETOMAT and 3-axis-magnetometer including data acquisition and analyzing software support time and frequency based evaluation of magnetic fields.

For design and construction of particle accelerators appropriate nonmagnetic materials need to be selected. MAGNETOSCOP and MAGNETOMAT determine relative permeability µr in accordance with IEC 60404-15 and ASTM A342M Method 4 and detect magnetic remanence.

For development of new materials KOERZIMAT determines coercive field strength and magnetic saturation magnetization. Derived from this it provides information about grain size in steel, the micro structure of sintered hard metals and iron powders.

Coercive field strength, relative permeability µr(H) and hysteresis J(H) are an important indicator for assessment of soft magnetic components for integration into magnetic circuits.

FOERSTER products play an important role in industry, whenever magnetic effects can influence the manufacturing processes it can be assessed  by sensing the magnetic environment. Material conditions can also be monitored by checking the magnetic properties.

MAGNETOSCOP and MAGNETOMAT can confirm the quality of austenitic steels and other low magnetic alloys by measuring the relative permeability µr in accordance with IEC 60404-15 and ASTM A342M.
For certain alloys there can be a correlation between the detected relative permeability µr and corrosion effects or destruction of coatings.

Low magnetic materials and components can be tested for magnetic remanence or ferrous inclusions by detecting the magnetic flux density. Measurement with MAGNETOSCOP and MAGNETOMAT are in accordance with test procedures described in API Spec 7 and VG 95578.

MAGNETOMAT  and 3-Axis-Magnetometers are used for condition monitoring in magnetic sensitive environments.

By measuring coercive field strength and magnetic saturation magnetization KOERZIMAT provides information about grain size of steel and the structure of sintered hard metals and ferrous powders. Coercive field strength, relative permeability µr(H) and hysteresis
J(H) are an important indicator for assessment of soft magnetic components for integration into magnetic circuits.

FOERSTER products can be used to select appropriate materials and components for manufacturing of medical instrumentation and equipment. Prior to installation of magnetic sensitive equipment a magnetic screening of the selected site will be performed. Later during system operation a constant monitoring of the magnetic environment will secure high system performance.

MAGNETOSCOP and MAGNETOMAT determine relative permeability µr and detect magnetic remanence when selecting appropriate materials and components for construction of MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) systems. This application also applies for manufacturing of electron microscopes.

Prior to installation of MRI systems or electron microscopes the magnetic environment at the selected site can be assessed using MAGNETOMAT or 3-Axis-Magnetometers. During the system operation magnetic condition monitoring can be performed with the same measuring devices.

To confirm the nonmagnetic property of implants MAGNETOSCOP and MAGNETOMAT will determine relative permeability µr and can detect magnetic remanence.

For manufacturing of specific defence equipment nonmagnetic material is required. FOERSTER products can be used to select appropriate materials, to perform quality control during manufacturing and for condition monitoring during the components lifetime.

To confirm the nonmagnetic property of material relative permeability µr can be determined by using MAGNETOSCOP and MAGNETOMAT. The measuring procedure is in accordance with VG 95578, ASTM A342M method 4 and IEC 60404-15.

The nonmagnetic construction of naval ships is an important component of the passive counter measures. Networks built from 3-Axis-Magnetometers measure the signature of naval vessels or main components like engines during the degaussing operation.

To proof the nonmagnetic property of EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) tools and equipment in accordance with STANAG 2897 and AEODP-7 magnetic remanence can be detected with MAGNETOSCOP and MAGNETOMAT.
